"Delinquent Boss: Machine Gun Massacre" (1971) – Original Japanese STB Size Poster
不良番長 ぶっ殺しぶたぐり | Toei Studios | Starring Tatsuo Umemiya, Bunjaku Han | Directed by Yukio Noda
A wild and provocative original STB-size (tatekan) Japanese poster for Delinquent Boss: Machine Gun Massacre (不良番長 ぶっ殺しぶたぐり), the 11th explosive entry in Toei’s cult-favourite Furyō Banchō biker-gang series, released in 1971 and directed by Yukio Noda.
This sensational design captures the untamed chaos of the series — Tatsuo Umemiya leads the “Skull Gang” in full leather-clad defiance, posed with co-stars under fiery red skies and roaring engines. Motorcycle wheels and machine guns crash through the composition in a psychedelic collage of rebellion, while a scantily clad gang girl, wrapped in a blue scarf and military cap, stands front and center — raw, unfiltered, and unmistakably of the early ’70s exploitation boom.
Toei’s Furyō Banchō films blended action, sleaze, comedy, and biker noir into a heady genre cocktail that catered to Japan’s rising youth counterculture. This entry ramps up the absurdity and anarchic humour, with Umemiya’s hard-nosed antihero smashing his way through rival gangs and corrupt authorities alike.
A bold and eye-popping STB-format poster — essential for collectors of pinky violence, biker exploitation, or the gloriously unruly fringes of Toei’s 1970s output.
