“Kiki’s Delivery Service” (魔女の宅急便), Original Japanese First-Release Movie Poster 1989, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) P87

Sale price $220.00 Regular price $350.00
On Sale

This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1989 for Hayao Miyazaki’s beloved Studio Ghibli feature Kiki’s Delivery Service, produced by Nibariki/Studio Ghibli and released domestically through Toei. Set in the seaside city of Koriko, the film follows 13-year-old witch Kiki and her cat Jiji as she finds her independence and purpose.

Design
A warm, quietly iconic key visual: Kiki rests in a bakery window display surrounded by loaves of bread, with Jiji beside her—an image that perfectly captures the film’s themes of work, belonging, and finding your rhythm. The elegant pink title 「魔女の宅急便」 crowns the scene, while the handwritten vertical caption reads: 「おちこんだりもしたけれど、私はげんきです。」 (“I’ve had some rough times, but I’m doing okay.”) — one of the most beloved lines in the Studio Ghibli universe.

Condition
Very Good. Please review the photos—they show the exact poster for sale. We have taken the condition into account when pricing. Once framed, this poster will display very well.

Authenticity
Important note: many official modern reproductions of this design circulate (often sold inexpensively in Ghibli shops). The example offered here is 100% an original theatrical printing from the 1989 first-release campaign—not a later shop reprint—so you can buy with confidence.
