This is an original Japanese B2 poster issued in Japan for the first domestic theatrical release of Kill Bill: Volume 2 (2004), Quentin Tarantino’s revenge-epic conclusion—starring Uma Thurman as The Bride, alongside David Carradine, Michael Madsen, Daryl Hannah, Gordon Liu, and more. Where Vol.1 explodes in pop-colour action, Vol.2 deepens into mythic Western melancholy and intimate reckoning—cementing Kill Bill as one of the defining modern cult duologies.
Poster design
This is the iconic Kill Bill image—arguably the most recognisable poster of the entire campaign. Against a deep black field, The Bride stands in stark bridal white, katana held ready, her veil lifting like a warning flag. Across her body, the bold hot-pink “KILL is LOVE” slogan lands with graphic certainty, while the faint pink line-art of crossed swords and tribal flourishes forms a ghostly emblem behind her—like a crest for Tarantino’s pulp mythology. The bottom typography is crisp and minimal: KILLBILL Vol.2 in hot pink, cast and director credit line, the Japanese subtitle 「ザ・ラブ・ストーリー」, and the original-era web and “2004” release notation. Clean, ruthless, and instantly frame-worthy—this is the design collectors mean when they say “the Kill Bill poster.”
