“Lone Wolf and Cub — Baby Cart ‘Video Festival’” (子連れ狼), Original Release Japanese Home Video Poster 1995, Rare, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) O493

Sale price $135.00

This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1995 for TOHO VIDEO’s “Baby Cart Video Festival” campaign—promoting the VHS rental/sell‑through rollout of all six Lone Wolf and Cub films starring Tomisaburō Wakayama (Ōgami Ittō) with Akihiro Tomikawa (Daigorō), adapted from the manga by Kazuo Koike & Goseki Kojima. The right column prints the month‑by‑month schedule (9/15 → 2/15) with thumbnail stills for each title.

Film background
The 1972–74 chambara cycle follows the disgraced executioner Ōgami pushing his son’s baby cart across Edo‑period Japan, taking on assassination contracts while seeking vengeance—a brutal, mythic journey that became a cult classic worldwide.

Poster design
A powerful split composition: at left, a grainy black‑and‑white close‑up of Ōgami gripping his katana; below, a sunset silhouette of father and son with the baby cart. Across the center slashes the large red brush title 「子連れ狼」, with cast/creator credits beneath and the vertical tagline beginning 「ゆくぞ、大五郎!」 beside the schedule strip. The lower right bears the TOHO VIDEO logo—clear evidence of a genuine in‑store promotional sheet for the mid‑’90s home‑video campaign (often listed online as “WAKAYAMA ’95”).
