“More” (モア), Original Japanese First-Release Movie Poster 1971, Barbet Schroeder / Pink Floyd, B2 Size (c. 51 × 73 cm) T17

This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster produced for the first Japanese release of More in 1971. Starring Mimsy Farmer and Klaus Grünberg, the film marked Barbet Schroeder’s feature directorial debut and features an original soundtrack by Pink Floyd.

Originally released in 1969, More follows a young German traveller whose relationship with an American woman takes him from Paris to Ibiza. Mediterranean scenery provides the backdrop to a story of desire, dependency and disillusionment, closely associated with the counterculture of the late 1960s. Its Pink Floyd soundtrack gives the film an enduring connection to the period’s music as well as its cinema.

The Japanese poster centres on a closely cropped photograph of the two leads embracing. Their dark clothing creates a dramatic background for the oversized yellow モア lettering, which sweeps across the lower half of the composition. The English title MORE appears above the Japanese lettering, while smaller photographic figures animate the bottom edge.

Warm orange promotional copy introduces the Mediterranean setting and the lovers’ troubled relationship. The lower-right credits name Pink Floyd, cinematographer Néstor Almendros, and Japanese presenter Gendai Eiga, alongside a reference to the soundtrack on Toshiba Odeon Records.

Combining an intimate film image with bold Japanese typography, this is an appealing piece for collectors of Pink Floyd, European cinema and counterculture film posters.

Condition: Very Good+. The sheet shows horizontal fold lines, handling creases, surface rubbing and light age toning. Pinholes are present around the margins and near the upper corners. Additional minor edge wear is visible. The central image and vivid yellow title remain well preserved, and the poster should display attractively when framed.
