This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1984 to promote Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind in association with Animage / Tokuma Shoten (noted by the Animage logo and publisher credit along the footer). Early Miyazaki/Animage promotional pieces tied to the 1984 soundtrack and magazine serialization are highly collectible.

Film background
Hayao Miyazaki’s landmark eco-fantasy follows Princess Nausicaä as she seeks peace between humanity and the toxic Sea of Decay and its giant insects, the Ohmu. The 1984 film—developed from Miyazaki’s manga serialized in Animage—became a foundational work that led to the creation of Studio Ghibli.

Poster design
