This is an original Japanese movie poster printed in the early 1990s to promote the nationwide “Movie Service Day” (映画サービスデー) on 1 September, when participating cinemas offered special discounted adult admission. The design features a monochrome still of Greta Garbo and Melvyn Douglas from Ernst Lubitsch’s classic romantic comedy Ninotchka (1939), paired with a teal circular badge announcing the discount and the bold ROADSHOW magazine logo.
It is around 30 years old!
