“Star Wars” (スター・ウォーズ), Rare Hildebrandt Brothers Promotional Poster 1977, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) N157A
There is a large tear in this poster, it has been stabilised using archival tape on the verso. We have taken this into consideration when pricing. Please see close up imagery provided. Once framed, this poster will display very well.
This is an original Japanese-market B2 promotional poster from 1977 for Star Wars (later known as Episode IV: A New Hope). The artwork is by the Hildebrandt brothers (their credit “HILDEBRANDT” appears within the image), making this a particularly desirable crossover piece—part vintage cinema paper, part collectible illustration art.
Poster design
A classic, high-impact painted composition: Darth Vader’s looming helmet dominates a starfield, with Luke raising a lightsaber in the foreground beside Leia, while C-3PO and R2-D2 stand to the right and X-wings streak overhead. It’s bold, dramatic, and instantly recognisable—exactly the kind of heroic, airbrushed spectacle that made late-1970s sci-fi poster art so iconic. Framed, it presents like a statement piece.
It is over 48 years old!
