This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1978 for the first Star Wars release after its 50th Academy Awards (7 wins) triumph. George Lucas’s space opera—starring Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, Alec Guinness—redefined blockbuster cinema and visual effects, launching one of pop culture’s most enduring sagas.

Poster design
The celebrated tableau illustrated by Seito: Luke raises the saber in a cross-of-light above Princess Leia, with Vader’s mask looming in the starfield, X-wings streaming toward the Death Star, and C-3PO/R2-D2 at left.
