This is an original Japanese B2 poster issued in Japan for the first domestic theatrical release of That’s Entertainment! (1974), MGM’s dazzling, nostalgia-charged celebration of the studio musical—assembled as a lavish compilation of iconic song-and-dance sequences from the golden age of Hollywood. Hosted by Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly, Bing Crosby, Debbie Reynolds, Frank Sinatra, Liza Minnelli, and others, the film plays as a greatest-hits tour through MGM’s most legendary moments—an irresistible time capsule of spectacle, glamour, and pure screen joy that became a major international hit and helped reignite global fascination with classic Hollywood musicals.

Poster design

A spectacular, graphic Japanese one-sheet designed like a vintage theatre marquee—bold, neon-like typography on deep black, surrounded by a star-studded border that instantly evokes showbiz excess. The central illustration forms a stylised “billboard collage” of names—CLARK GABLE, CARY GRANT, JUDY GARLAND, GENE KELLY, GINGER ROGERS, DEBBIE REYNOLDS, BING CROSBY, and more—stacked like illuminated signage on Broadway, culminating in a circular cast-photo vignette.
