“The Cassandra Crossing” (カサンドラ・クロス), Original Japanese Movie Poster 1976, First Release, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) O110

Sale price $100.00

This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1976 for the first domestic theatrical release of The Cassandra Crossing (カサンドラ・クロス), directed by George P. Cosmatos and produced by Carlo Ponti. First-issue Japanese posters for this star-packed 1970s disaster thriller are highly collectible.

Film background
After a bioweapon incident, authorities reroute a Europe-bound express train toward an abandoned bridge—the notorious “Cassandra Crossing”—to contain a potential plague. The suspense hinges on whether the train, its passengers, and the plan will survive the crossing. A prestige ensemble leads the film: Sophia Loren, Richard Harris, Burt Lancaster, Ava Gardner, Martin Sheen, O. J. Simpson, Ingrid Thulin, and Lee Strasberg.

Poster design
A dramatic country sheet: a towering hazmat figure with respirator dominates the field, flanked at upper right by a cordon of suited responders. An orange route map traces the train’s path through major European cities (Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt, Paris, Basel, Geneva, Copenhagen, Stockholm) toward the “Cassandra Crossing.” Below, a helicopter hovers over the hurtling train, with the bold blue Japanese logotype 「カサンドラ・クロス」 spanning the base. A cast strip of portrait panels anchors the footer, while the English title appears at the upper right—classic hallmarks that give this sheet exceptional wall presence.
