“Cran d’arrêt” (別れのスキャット), Original Japanese First-Release Movie Poster 1970, Renaud Verley / Yves Boisset, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) — ZA1116

This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster for the 1970 first Japanese release of Cran d’arrêt, issued under the title 「別れのスキャット」 (Wakare no Scat). Directed by Yves Boisset, the film stars Renaud Verley, Bruno Cremer, Marianne Comtell, and Raffaella Carrà. It opened in Japan on 25 August 1970, distributed by Towa.

Adapted from a novel by Giorgio Scerbanenco, the film combines psychological drama with a criminal investigation. Verley plays a withdrawn young man haunted by a woman’s death, while Cremer portrays the doctor who gradually uncovers the circumstances behind his distress. The Japanese campaign places particular emphasis on Verley’s romantic screen image and the story’s emotional undercurrent.

The poster is dominated by a large photographic portrait of Renaud Verley, wearing a red-orange shirt with a broad collar. His contemplative expression, softly lit face, and the deep brown background create an intimate, restrained composition that gives the portrait almost the entire sheet.

Large, sweeping cream-white Japanese title lettering stretches across the lower left, accompanied by the prominent billing 「ルノー・ベルレー主演」 — “Starring Renaud Verley.” The Towa diamond emblem completes the lower credit area.
