This is an original Japanese B3 theatrical poster issued by Tōwa for the first release of The Trip (白昼の幻想 / Hakuchū no Gensō) in Japan. Roger Corman’s psychedelic drama stars Peter Fonda, Susan Strasberg, Bruce Dern, with a screenplay by Jack Nicholson and an early appearance by Dennis Hopper.
Design
A saturated, pop-psychedelic layout: a red duotone embrace dominates the sheet, bordered by trippy green type repeating “A LOVE STORY OF DREAM.” Undulating white/green ribbons cut across the lower half, revealing collage vignettes—marbled visuals, club scenes, and close-ups—mirroring the film’s LSD-trip sequences. The hand-drawn THE TRIP logotype anchors the title block above the Japanese billing and the TOWA mark.
