“TINA” (ティナ), Original Japanese B2 Movie Poster 1993, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) ZA684

Sale price $110.00

This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1993 for the release of Tina: What’s Love Got to Do with It, the acclaimed biographical drama based on Tina Turner’s life story. Directed by Brian Gibson and starring Angela Bassett and Laurence Fishburne, the film is celebrated for its powerhouse performances (both leads received major awards recognition) and remains a key title in ’90s music‑biopic cinema. The poster’s concept is graphic and minimalist; individual designer credit is not printed on the sheet.

Poster design
A bold minimalist statement: a clean white field is pierced by sweeping black brush‑stroke lines forming a stylised female profile—hair, nose and cheek rendered as elegant calligraphy—punctuated by a single, vivid red mouth at centre. The typography sits low and left: TINA in deep blue with ティナ beside it, followed by the English tagline “…what’s love got to do with it” and “The true life story of Tina Turner.” The result is pure early‑’90s sophistication—high contrast, lots of negative space, and a museum‑poster presence when framed.
