"Une Parisienne (La Parisienne)", Original Release Japanese Movie Poster 1958, Very Rare, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) O4
This poster comes from a carefully kept private Japanese collection of 1950s–60s American cinema (including Rear Window 1954, Hammer and Disney). The archive was stored in the dark for decades, so most pieces—this one included—survive in unusually fresh condition.

This is an original Japanese poster printed in 1958 by Towa (東和映画) for the first Japanese release of Une Parisienne (「殿方ご免遊ばせ」), Michel Boisrond’s sparkling Parisian romantic comedy starring Brigitte Bardot, Charles Boyer, and Henri Vidal.
Printed for the film’s initial theatrical run, this scarce original B2（半裁）is sought after by Bardot collectors and lovers of 1950s French design—a superb mid-century paper piece now well over six decades old.

Japanese B2s for Bardot’s late-1950s films appear infrequently, and high-grade copies of Une Parisienne are especially elusive. This whimsical map-art variant is the version most prized by design collectors and rarely surfaces in the Japanese or Western markets.
Poster design
A captivating Bardot portrait in a gauzy white négligée is set against a meticulously hand-drawn bird’s-eye map of Montmartre—Sacré-Cœur crowns the skyline while tiny Parisian street scenes bustle below. The bilingual layout features the elegant French script “une Parisienne / BB Brigitte Bardot” at upper left, the bold Japanese title 「殿方ご免遊ばせ」 in a pink credit band across the base, and the Towa diamond mark at upper right. The contrast of soft painterly figure and intricate line-work cityscape makes this one of the most charming Bardot designs issued in Japan.
