“Who Are You, Polly Maggoo?” (ポリー・マグーお前は誰だ), Original Release Japanese Movie Poster 1968, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) P7

Sale price $700.00

This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster printed in 1968 for the Japanese release of Who Are You, Polly Maggoo? (Qui êtes-vous, Polly Maggoo?), William Klein’s razor-sharp, pop-modern satire of fashion, media, and celebrity culture.

Starring Dorothy McGowan as the model Polly Maggoo (with Jean Rochefort and Sami Frey in supporting roles), the film is both a time capsule of 1960s style and a surprisingly timeless critique of how image-making turns people into products. Funny, unsettling, and visually inventive, it has become a cult favourite at the intersection of cinema, fashion history, and modern art.

Poster design
A striking, design-led Japanese composition built around a collage of faces, fashion imagery, and surreal vignettes—capturing the film’s mix of glamour and absurdity. The bold central image (Polly with finger to lips) is paired with dreamlike overlays and dramatic colour contrasts, while the Japanese title ポリー・マグーお前は誰だ anchors the lower field in elegant typography. A superb, gallery-ready example of late-1960s Japanese design for European arthouse cinema.

It is over 57 years old!
