Film background
Directed by David Cronenberg, the London-set crime thriller follows midwife Anna (Naomi Watts) as she uncovers a diary that links a newborn child to the Russian mafia. The film is renowned for its brutal realism, Viggo Mortensen’s Academy Award-nominated performance as enigmatic driver Nikolai, and the now-legendary Turkish-bath knife fight.
