This is an original Japanese poster printed in 1987 for the first nationwide re-release of Giant.
Giant (Japanese title: ジャイアンツ, Jaiantsu) is George Stevens’ sprawling 1956 American epic-drama starring James Dean, Elizabeth Taylor, and Rock Hudson. Adapted from Edna Ferber’s novel, the film chronicles three decades in the lives of a wealthy Texas cattle family as oil riches, social change, and simmering racial tensions transform their ranching empire. Nominated for ten Academy Awards and winner of Best Director, Giant cemented James Dean’s legend with his final screen performance as the restless ranch-hand Jett Rink.
