Original Japanese Uma Thurman Movie Posters

Uma Thurman (born 1970) is one of the most distinctive actresses of modern American cinema, celebrated for her versatility, commanding screen presence, and memorable collaborations with director Quentin Tarantino. Her performances in Pulp Fiction (1994) and Kill Bill: Volume 1 (2003) and Volume 2 (2004) established some of the most recognisable characters in contemporary film history.

This collection brings together original Japanese theatrical posters spanning Uma Thurman’s career, from acclaimed 1990s productions to major Hollywood releases and modern cult classics.

Thurman achieved widespread recognition for her portrayal of Mia Wallace in Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction, a landmark of independent American cinema that won the Palme d’Or at Cannes in 1994. She subsequently appeared in a diverse range of films, including Gattaca (1997), Andrew Niccol’s influential science-fiction drama; Les Misérables (1998); and The Producers (2005).

Her most celebrated collaboration with Tarantino came with Kill Bill, in which she portrayed Beatrix Kiddo, also known as The Bride. Drawing heavily on Japanese samurai cinema, martial-arts films, and 1970s exploitation cinema, the two-part production has become a defining work of modern action filmmaking.

Original Japanese Kill Bill posters are particularly desirable among collectors, especially designs featuring The Bride’s iconic yellow tracksuit, Japanese typography, and distinctive promotional artwork. The films’ close relationship with Japanese cinematic traditions makes their original Japanese advertising materials especially compelling.

The Japan Poster Shop collection includes original B2 theatrical posters, alternative designs, promotional materials, and selected rarer formats from Thurman’s filmography. These posters document the evolution of Japanese theatrical advertising from the 1990s onwards, combining distinctive graphic design with imagery from some of the most influential films of their era.

From the understated science-fiction imagery of Gattaca to the bold visual identity of Kill Bill, this collection offers an opportunity to explore the Japanese poster artwork associated with one of contemporary cinema’s most recognisable actresses.

Each poster is carefully catalogued and authenticated by Japan Poster Shop, with attention to its original Japanese release, condition, format, and rarity.
