“For a Few Dollars More” (夕陽のガンマン), Original Japanese Theatrical Programme / Pamphlet 1967, A4 Size (21 x 29cm)
This is an original Japanese A4 theatrical programme / pamphlet produced for the Japanese release of For a Few Dollars More — released in Japan as 夕陽のガンマン. The front cover carries the Toho mark and presents a striking Japanese design featuring Clint Eastwood seen from behind, standing against a sunset-toned desert landscape, with a smaller portrait still of Eastwood at lower right. The programme is marked No. 67-1 and dated 1967.2.3 for 日比谷映画劇場.
For a Few Dollars More is a 1965 Italian Spaghetti Western directed by Sergio Leone, starring Clint Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef, and Gian Maria Volonté. With its tense duel structure, stylised violence, and unforgettable Ennio Morricone score, the film became one of the defining works of the genre and the second instalment in Leone’s celebrated “Dollars Trilogy”.
Issued for the film’s Japanese theatrical release, this programme is a superb period companion piece to one of the most influential Westerns of the 1960s. The Japanese title 夕陽のガンマン gives the film its famous local identity, while the English title FOR A FEW DOLLARS MORE appears beneath the Japanese typography on the front cover.
The back cover features a full-page period advertisement for the Nissan Bluebird 1300, showing a car in a snowy landscape with skiers and engine imagery below. This kind of contemporary commercial advertising is a distinctive feature of Japanese cinema programmes from the period, adding valuable historical context beyond the film itself.
