“The Dollars Trilogy” (ドル3部作【4K】), Original Japanese 4K Restoration Theatrical Poster 2024, Very Rare B1 Size (72.8 × 103 cm)

Sale price $500.00

This is an original Japanese B1 theatrical poster produced in 2024 to promote the 4K restoration screenings of Sergio Leone’s legendary “Dollars Trilogy”: A Fistful of Dollars (荒野の用心棒), For a Few Dollars More (夕陽のガンマン), and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (続・夕陽のガンマン/地獄の決斗).

Issued for the Japanese theatrical event released by Ark Films beginning on 22 March 2024, this poster commemorates the first simultaneous Japanese theatrical screening of all three films in 4K restoration. It is a modern cinema-distributed poster, not a commercial decorative reprint.

Film background
The “Dollars Trilogy” transformed the Western genre and established the international screen persona of Clint Eastwood as the iconic “Man with No Name.” Directed by Sergio Leone and scored by Ennio Morricone, the trilogy redefined the Western through operatic violence, extreme close-ups, moral ambiguity, stark landscapes, and some of the most recognisable music in cinema history.

The three films are listed directly on the poster:

A Fistful of Dollars
For a Few Dollars More
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Together, they remain the essential works of the Spaghetti Western movement and among the most influential films of the 1960s.

Poster design
A powerful and elegant modern Japanese design, dominated by a large restored image of Clint Eastwood as the Man with No Name, wearing his poncho and hat, revolver at his side, standing against a sun-bleached frontier village. The minimal layout gives the image exceptional presence, allowing Eastwood’s silhouette and costume to carry the full weight of the design.

The upper text credits the three defining figures of the trilogy:

Clint Eastwood — Star
Sergio Leone — Director
Ennio Morricone — Music

The central title block reads:

THE DOLLARS TRILOGY
ドル3部作【4K】

Beneath, each individual film is listed with its Japanese and English title, followed by the original production credits. The lower-right detail imagery confirms the ©2023 Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. / MGM copyright line, along with the Japanese theatrical classification marks.

The bottom Japanese campaign line reads:

「不滅のマカロニ・ウエスタン3大傑作、日本初一挙上映」

which translates as:

“Three immortal masterpieces of the Spaghetti Western — screened together in Japan for the first time.”

Rarity and significance
This is the very rare Japanese B1 format, measuring approximately 72.8 × 103 cm. B1 posters are substantially larger than standard Japanese B2 posters and are generally produced for cinema lobby display rather than ordinary retail circulation. They are much harder to find than flyers, chirashi, or smaller posters, especially in strong condition.

Although this is a modern issue, it is an official Japanese theatrical release poster made for a specific cinema event. For collectors of Clint Eastwood, Sergio Leone, Ennio Morricone, Spaghetti Western cinema, and modern Japanese theatrical posters, this is a highly displayable and historically meaningful piece.

Condition
Excellent / close to near mint. The poster presents beautifully, with crisp typography, strong colour, clean image surface, sharp detail, and excellent overall display impact. Please review the photos—they show the exact poster for sale.
