“A View to a Kill” (美しき獲物たち), Original Japanese Movie Poster 1985, First Release, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) C39

Sale price $125.00

This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1985 for the first domestic theatrical release of A View to a Kill (美しき獲物たち), directed by John Glen and released in Japan by MGM/UA (United Artists). First-issue Japanese posters for the final Roger Moore Bond—co-starring Christopher Walken and Grace Jones—are highly collectible.

Film background
Bond uncovers a plot by psychopathic industrialist Max Zorin (Christopher Walken) to dominate the microchip market by destroying Silicon Valley. From the Eiffel Tower to San Francisco’s City Hall and the Golden Gate Bridge, the film delivers globe-hopping set pieces and introduces the formidable May Day (Grace Jones) and geologist Stacey Sutton (Tanya Roberts). It marked Roger Moore’s last outing as 007 and featured Duran Duran’s hit title song.

Poster design
A vibrant montage layout: at left, May Day (Grace Jones) looms with pistol; at right, a striking portrait of Stacey Sutton balances the composition. The central aqua panel shows the Eiffel Tower stunt with a zeppelin hovering above. Below, Moore’s Bond sights down his weapon, flanked by action insets. The bold red “007” gun-logo leads into the dynamic Japanese logotype 「美しき獲物たち」, while vertical copy lines the right margin. Studio crediting and the Eirin mark appear along the footer—classic hallmarks of a first-release sheet with excellent wall presence.
