This is an original Japanese poster printed in 1972 for the Buena Vista re-release of Walt Disney’s Alice in Wonderland (1951). Issued domestically in a compact lobby/display size, this campaign celebrated Disney’s legacy—note the silver “HAPPY 50 YEARS” anniversary bug at upper right.
Design
A joyful Wonderland collage: Alice peers into the rabbit hole as the White Rabbit dashes past; below, the Mad Tea Party erupts beside the grinning Cheshire Cat, Caterpillar on his mushroom, and a cavalcade of card soldiers leading to the Queen’s court. The soft, storybook palette wraps around the rounded-pink Japanese title 「ふしぎの国のアリス」 with Buena Vista credit at lower left—quintessential early-’70s Disney reissue art.
