"Alien 3", Original First-Release Japanese Movie Poster 1992, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) F143
This is an original Japanese poster printed in 1992 for the first theatrical release of Alien 3 in Japan.
David Fincher’s grim third entry returns Sigourney Weaver as Ellen Ripley—shaved head and battle-scarred—stranded on Fury 161, a prison planet where “this time it’s the humans who are trapped.” The design sets Ripley ablaze in a halo of sulphur-yellow light, framed by a solar eclipse, the looming xenomorph grin and the orbiting prison foundry. White headline text reminds audiences of the timeline:
-
1979 – humanity met the Alien.
1986 – it was gone forever.
1992 – now humanity is in danger.
Bold red “エイリアン” typography and a stinger tagline—“あいつが戻って来た” (“It’s back”)—complete the stark, foreboding composition unique to the Japanese campaign.
It is over 30 years old!
