“Apocalypse Now” (地獄の黙示録), Original Japanese B4 Poster, CIC Video Release (1980), B4 Size (約25.7 × 36.4 cm) O15

This is an original Japanese B4 poster printed in the 1980 for the domestic CIC Video release of Apocalypse Now (地獄の黙示録), Francis Ford Coppola’s Vietnam War masterpiece starring Marlon Brando, Martin Sheen, Robert Duvall, Frederic Forrest, and Dennis Hopper. The artwork references the film’s major honors, including the Palme d’Or (1979) and two Academy Awards.

Poster design
An infernal, molten-red close-up of Marlon Brando (Kurtz) dominates the composition, with a line of helicopters skimming the horizon. The bold metallic block title 「地獄の黙示録」 spans the base, flanked by Paramount and CIC VIDEO marks and a street-date callout 「12月1日発売！」 for the video release. A yellow banner 「ビデオ・ライブラリー・シリーズ」 and vertical copy at left (noting Coppola’s Godfather pedigree) complete this striking home-video variant. Reverse side features black-and-white stills, CAST/STAFF, synopsis, and sales points, exactly as issued to promote the tape.
