This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 2001 for the nationwide re-release Apocalypse Now Redux (1979/2001), Francis Ford Coppola’s expanded cut starring Marlon Brando, Martin Sheen, Robert Duvall, Dennis Hopper, Laurence Fishburne, and Harrison Ford. Marketed domestically as 「特別完全版」, this 2001 campaign returned Coppola’s Vietnam epic to theaters with major restorations and added sequences.
Design
Scorched-ember kanji across a napalm sky: the colossal title lettering appears charred from within beneath the stark tagline 「戦争。アメリカ。」. A file of UH-1 helicopters sweeps over a wall of fire in the lower field—an unmistakable evocation of the “Ride of the Valkyries” air-cavalry sequence. The classic handwritten “Apocalypse Now” logo and full credit block anchor the base—minimal, searing, and iconic.
