“Battles Without Honor and Humanity: Final Episode” (仁義なき戦い 頂上作戦), Original Release Japanese Movie Poster 1974, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) O692
This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster printed in 1974 for Battles Without Honor and Humanity: Final Episode (仁義なき戦い 頂上作戦)—the climactic final chapter in Kinji Fukasaku’s landmark jitsuroku (“true account”) yakuza saga. Brutal, modern, and politically charged, the series redefined Japanese crime cinema in the 1970s—and this “Final Episode” design is one of the most striking sheets from the entire run.
This design is a very rare variant - it is the first time we have had this in our gallery!
Film background
Directed by Kinji Fukasaku, the Battles Without Honor and Humanity films depict the violent, chaotic rise of post-war yakuza power struggles—less romanticised “gangster myth,” more societal autopsy. The Final Episode closes the arc at maximum intensity: shifting allegiances, media manipulation, corporate power, and the cold machinery of violence, all rendered with Fukasaku’s urgent, documentary-like style.
