“Bedazzled” (悪いことしましょ！), Original First-Release Japanese Movie Poster 1968, Rare, B2 Size (c. 51 × 73 cm) S109

This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster printed in 1968 to promote the first Japanese cinema release of Bedazzled (悪いことしましょ！ / Warui Koto Shimasho!, roughly “Let’s Do Something Bad!”), Stanley Donen’s brilliant 1967 British fantasy-comedy starring Peter Cook, Dudley Moore, Raquel Welch, and Eleanor Bron.

A quintessential Swinging Sixties cult classic, Bedazzled is a witty and stylish Faustian satire, written by and starring the legendary comedy duo Peter Cook and Dudley Moore. Original Japanese posters for imported 1960s British cult films are increasingly hard to find, and this example is especially desirable thanks to its unforgettable psychedelic design and the prominent presence of Raquel Welch at the height of her international stardom.

Poster design
This is an exceptionally eye-catching Japanese poster, bursting with the bold, playful graphic energy of the late 1960s. The top half is dominated by the huge, multi-coloured Japanese title 悪いことしましょ！, rendered in exuberant bubble-like lettering against a vivid hot-pink background, immediately capturing the film’s irreverent pop sensibility.

The central image is led by a striking, highly glamorous still of Raquel Welch, shown in a revealing fringed white costume in one of the film’s most memorable visual moments. Behind her are smaller images of Dudley Moore and Peter Cook, reinforcing the comic fantasy premise and giving the composition a wonderfully offbeat, mischievous tone. The curved BEDAZZLED logo and the handwritten-style speech-bubble copy add to the playful, psychedelic atmosphere.

A particularly charming feature is the Japanese promotional line inside the white speech panel:

“私といっしょに悪いことしましョ！ みんないっしょに悪いことしましョ！”
(“Let’s do something bad together! Everyone, let’s do something bad together!”)

The poster also carries the period billing “総天然色・パナビジョン” (“In glorious colour / Panavision”), along with the 20th Century Fox logo at lower right, completing a superb and highly collectible first-release design.

Bedazzled remains one of the great fantasy-comedy films of the 1960s and an essential title in British cult cinema. Directed by Stanley Donen, and written by Peter Cook and Dudley Moore, it cleverly reworks the Faust legend into a sharp, stylish satire on desire, identity, and modern life. The film has long enjoyed enduring cult status, and Japanese posters for such countercultural late-1960s imports are particularly sought after for their often far more vivid and inventive campaign artwork than their Western counterparts.

Excellent. A very attractive original example with strong, vivid colour and excellent overall presentation. It shows only light signs of age and handling consistent with an original 1968 theatrical poster, but remains in highly displayable condition.
