This is an original Japanese STB (tatekan‑style two‑panel) poster printed in 1968 to promote Benjamin—released in Japan under the title めざめ (Mezame, “Awakening”)—Michel Deville’s playful 18th‑century coming‑of‑age romance starring Catherine Deneuve, Michel Piccoli, Michèle Morgan, and Pierre Clémenti. The Japanese release opened 7 September 1968 via Paramount. 

Left column lists the stars: Catherine Deneuve, Michèle Morgan, Michel Piccoli, Pierre Clémenti; the blue note reads 「〈カラー作品〉」 (Color feature).

Design notes:

A delicate two‑panel composition centered on an ethereal portrait of Deneuve above a sensuous reclining embrace. A small monochrome vignette of lovers and a château vignette hint at the period setting, while the bold hand‑brushed green title めざめ sweeps vertically down the sheet—an elegant counterpoint to the soft pastels and lace textures that match the film’s playful, erotic tone.

This particular poster is a large‑format STB (tatekan)—approximately twice the height of a standard B2—and was typically displayed at cinema entrances. STB posters were printed in limited numbers and survive in small quantities, making them highly collectible.
