Here, Kelly takes the lead role as Black Belt Jones, a martial arts expert who battles the Mafia to protect a karate dojo threatened by gangsters. The film blends kung fu action with the style and energy of the blaxploitation era, making it one of the defining cult action films of the 1970s. Gloria Hendry co-stars, notable as one of the first African-American Bond girls in Live and Let Die (1973).
