"Black Belt Jones (黒帯ドラゴン)", Original Japanese Movie Poster 1974, First Release, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) N231
This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1974 for the release of Black Belt Jones, directed by Robert Clouse and distributed in Japan by Warner Bros.
Black Belt Jones stars Jim Kelly, the martial artist who rose to international fame alongside Bruce Lee in Enter the Dragon (1973). Here, Kelly takes the lead role as Black Belt Jones, a martial arts expert who battles the Mafia to protect a karate dojo threatened by gangsters. The film blends kung fu action with the style and energy of the blaxploitation era, making it one of the defining cult action films of the 1970s. Gloria Hendry co-stars, notable as one of the first African-American Bond girls in Live and Let Die (1973).
The poster design is a dynamic showcase of 1970s action cinema. Jim Kelly dominates the composition, bare-chested and ready for combat, while action vignettes around him capture both martial arts sequences and explosive urban confrontations. The bold Japanese title 「黒帯ドラゴン」 and English subtitle Black Belt Jones highlight both the film’s martial arts pedigree and its international cult appeal.
