“Blood at Sundown” (砂塵に血を吐け), Original Japanese Movie Poster 1967 First Release, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) O180

Sale price $150.00

This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1967 for the first domestic theatrical release of Blood at Sundown (Italy, 1967), a spaghetti-western directed by Alberto Cardone (credited as Al Cardi) and starring Anthony Steffen and Gianni “John” Garko. First-issue Japanese country sheets for late-1960s Italian westerns are highly collectible.

Film background
When gunslinger Johnny Liston returns to his hometown, he’s framed for murder amid a vicious feud with his ruthless brother Sartana. Vengeance, shifting loyalties, and dust-blown showdowns drive Cardone’s lean, hard-edged revenge western—an early showcase for Garko before his later, iconic “Sartana” cycle.

Poster design
A dynamic, grit-toned montage country sheet: Steffen lunges forward with revolver drawn against a giant, close-cropped face and splashes of blood-red paint. Cavalry and riders churn across the ochre ground, while the bold English header BLOOD AT SUNDOWN crowns the top. The massive brush-stroke Japanese logotype 「砂塵に血を吐け」 surges along the base, with staff credits centered and the Herald distributor mark at lower right—classic hallmarks of an authentic first-release theatrical sheet with striking wall presence.
