This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1986 for the in-store promotion of the Original Soundtrack (OST) to Hayao Miyazaki’s Castle in the Sky. Produced for record-shop display (not sold to the public), this music-campaign sheet accompanied the film’s theatrical run and album/cassette release in Japan.

Film background
The first feature produced under the Studio Ghibli banner, Castle in the Sky follows orphaned Sheeta and miner’s apprentice Pazu as they search for the floating island Laputa. Joe Hisaishi’s sweeping score—crowned by the theme “Kimi wo Nosete (Carrying You)”—became one of the most beloved soundtracks in anime history and helped define Ghibli’s musical identity.

Poster design
A clean, high-impact layout: Sheeta and Pazu free-fall across a vast white field, their figures tumbling over an enormous blue “LAPUTA” logotype. The green Japanese title 「天空の城ラピュタ」 sits beneath, while a small illustration of the pirates’ airship glides at the bottom. Minimal text and bold typography mark this as a soundtrack advertising piece rather than a theatrical credit poster—quintessential mid-’80s Ghibli/Animage design.
