“Chivalrous Flower’s Life Story: Gambling Heir” (侠花列伝 襲名賭博), Original First Release Japanese Movie Poster 1969, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) O17
This is an original Japanese poster printed in 1969 for the first theatrical release of Chivalrous Flower’s Life Story: Gambling Heir (侠花列伝 襲名賭博), a Nikkatsu ninkyō-yakuza drama directed by Keiichi Ozawa and written by Seiji Hoshikawa. It stars Chieko Matsubara, Tatsuya Fuji, Meiko Kaji, and Hideki Takahashi. The film opened in Japan on 27 September 1969 and is part of Nikkatsu’s “onna-kyō” cycle; it’s often rendered in English as Chivalrous Flower’s Life Story: Gambling Heir (aka Gambler’s Dilemma).
A striking hand-painted montage anchors this B2: a steely close-up of the male lead looms at upper left; at right a tattooed heroine reveals dice in her palm; below, the central heroine grips a sword in kimono, poised for confrontation. The sweeping crimson brush title 「侠花列伝 襲名賭博」 runs vertically at left, balanced by green cast credits and a scarlet tagline at the right margin—classic late-1960s Nikkatsu design language that fuses romance and underworld ritual.
