“Day of the Dead” (死霊のえじき), Original Release Japanese Movie Poster 1985, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) O494

Sale price $175.00

This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed for the first theatrical release of George A. Romero’s Day of the Dead in Japan in 1985, distributed by Tohokushinsha / Toei Classic Film. It’s the third entry in Romero’s original “Dead” trilogy and a landmark of practical FX horror.

Film background
In a Florida underground bunker, a dwindling group of soldiers and scientists—including Sarah, John, and “Bub”—struggle to survive as the world is overrun. Romero’s bleak, claustrophobic vision and Tom Savini’s effects helped cement the film’s cult status.

Poster design
A striking collage anchored by the unforgettable still of Sarah pinned against a tiled wall as zombie arms burst through from every direction. The top is dominated by the dripping red Japanese title 「死霊のえじき」, with small character vignettes flanking it; the bottom band features gore‑tinted stills and a line‑up of the undead above the English logo DAY OF THE DEAD
