“DEMON SLAYER: KIMETSU NO YAIBA – DOMA” – Original ufotable DINING “W Chance” B2 Genga Prize Poster, Entertainment District Arc Phase 4 (2022), NOT FOR SALE — Holy Grail Rarity ZA210
Doma B2 Genga / Key-Animation Prize Poster (ufotable DINING, 2022)
Original B2 Poster | 51.5 × 72.8 cm / 20.3 × 28.7 in | Full-Colour Print on Paper | Issued in 2022
NOT FOR SALE ITEM | Entertainment District Arc Phase 4 | Otanoshimi-kuji “W Chance” Prize
This is an extraordinarily rare, original B2-size genga poster featuring Doma, issued exclusively through ufotable DINING during Phase 4 of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Entertainment District Arc collaboration in 2022.
It was never made available for ordinary retail purchase, having been awarded solely through the official dining venue’s Otanoshimi-kuji “W Chance” prize system. To obtain one, a guest first had to secure admission to the reservation-only collaboration dining event, draw a qualifying W Chance ticket from the in-venue lottery, and then participate in the special prize draw through which the large-format B2 posters were awarded.
With the original campaign now concluded and no standard retail edition ever offered, surviving examples are exceptionally difficult to source—particularly in the mint condition seen here.
The Genga / Key-Animation Artwork
What distinguishes this piece from conventional anime merchandise is its direct relationship to the animation-production process.
Rather than using a polished promotional key visual, the poster reproduces an original genga—or key-animation drawing—from ufotable’s production of the series, retaining the technical marks, layer references, mouth-animation instructions, coloured tracing lines and correction notes associated with the creation of the finished scene.
Officially designated a B2 原画ポスター, this is the original 2022 prize poster printed from the production artwork. It should not be confused with the unique, hand-drawn genga sheet that physically passed through the animation studio; the production annotations visible here are faithfully reproduced as part of the printed poster design.
The result is an unusually revealing object: a finished, officially issued collectible that still preserves the visual language of working animation.
Doma’s Chilling Anime Debut
The image originates from the final episode of the Entertainment District Arc, Episode 11, “No Matter How Many Lives” / 何度生まれ変わっても.
In this historical flashback, Doma has not yet risen to the position of Upper Rank Two. At this point in the chronology, he occupies the rank of Upper Rank Six.
Doma is shown smiling serenely while holding the dismembered remains of an unnamed courtesan victim whom he has been consuming. It is at this moment that he encounters the critically wounded Gyutaro carrying his dying sister Ume. Doma offers the siblings his blood, setting in motion their transformation into the demons later known as Gyutaro and Daki.
Importantly, the bloodied woman depicted in Doma’s arms is not Ume or Daki. She is an unnamed victim whose elaborate hairstyle and kimono identify her as a woman of the Entertainment District. The contrast between Doma’s composed expression, rainbow-coloured eyes and the brutality surrounding him makes this one of the character’s most disturbing and memorable images.
It is also the scene that marked Doma’s first appearance in the television anime, giving the poster considerable importance within the visual history of the series.
Original Production Notations
The artwork retains a remarkable series of printed facsimile production instructions:
-
「童磨」 — “Doma”
The boxed notation identifies the principal character in the cut. -
「B①/トメ」 — “B1 / Hold”
This indicates that the relevant B-layer drawing is held as a static image. -
「口パク」 with drawings 2, 3 and 4
Kuchi-paku is the Japanese animation term for mouth-flap or lip-synchronisation animation. The numbered drawings indicate the alternative mouth positions required for Doma’s dialogue. -
「女性/着物のエリ」 — “Woman / Kimono Collar”
Positioned beside the courtesan’s head, this is a costume and drawing-reference instruction concerning the collar of the woman’s kimono. -
Red crosses, coloured tracing lines and reference marks
These retain additional elements of the production workflow and visual checking process.
These markings are printed elements derived from the original production drawing, not handwriting subsequently added to this physical poster.
The Finished Poster Design
The raw key-animation imagery is presented against an elegant silver-grey, mottled ground, embellished with subtle peony motifs, wave geometry and sweeping black arabesques. A deep purple border frames the composition, while the official Entertainment District Arc logo appears at the upper right.
This juxtaposition of technical production art and highly finished decorative design makes the poster markedly different from standard character merchandise. Rather than concealing the animation process, it elevates the working drawing itself into a large-format display piece.
Official markings at the lower edge confirm its licensed provenance:
- ©吾峠呼世晴/集英社・アニプレックス・ufotable
- Official television anime Entertainment District Arc logo
- No retail price or barcode, consistent with its status as a non-commercial lottery prize
