"Dr. No", Original Japanese First-Release Movie Poster 1962, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) O324

Sale price $900.00

This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1962 for Dr. No, the debut feature of the James Bond franchise. Directed by Terence Young and starring Sean Connery, Ursula Andress, Joseph Wiseman, and Jack Lord, the film launched the 007 phenomenon—from the gun-barrel cool to Monty Norman’s theme—and remains a cornerstone of modern spy cinema. Ultra-scarce in Japan in any grade, first-issue B2s are especially sought after.

Design
A bold, collage-style layout keyed to pulp energy: Connery’s Bond takes aim, a huge silenced pistol slices diagonally through the frame, and Andress’s iconic beach apparition anchors the lower right. Electric magenta 「007は殺しの番号」 title text and stacked credits complete a dynamic, early-’60s Toho/Towa-era aesthetic that predates the later standardized Bond campaigns.

Condition
Very Good overall, with honest theatrical evidence of use: scattered pinholes (the poster was displayed in Iwate Prefecture, as indicated by the additional image), light edge/handling wear, and fold/handling traces typical of the period. Colors remain strong and the sheet presents cleanly. Please review the photos; they show the exact poster for sale. We have reflected condition in the pricing.
