“Dragon Ball Z: Super Android 13!” (ドラゴンボールZ 極限バトル!!三大超サイヤ人), Original Release Japanese Movie Poster 1992, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) S131

This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster produced for the first Japanese cinema release of Dragon Ball Z: Super Android 13! (ドラゴンボールZ 極限バトル!!三大超サイヤ人 / Dragon Ball Z: Kyokugen Battle!! San Dai Super Saiyajin). The film opened theatrically in Japan on 11 July 1992 as part of the 1992 Summer Toei Anime Fair, and is one of the classic theatrical features from the original Dragon Ball Z era.

Based on the original work of Akira Toriyama, the story sees Androids 13, 14 and 15, created through Dr. Gero’s computer systems, launch an attack on Goku. The battle eventually moves to a frozen wilderness, where Goku, Vegeta and Future Trunks unite as the film’s “Three Great Super Saiyans” against the android threat. Android 13 ultimately absorbs components from Androids 14 and 15 to transform into the enormously powerful Super Android 13.

Poster design
A spectacular early-1990s Dragon Ball Z theatrical composition dominated by an enormous face-off between Super Saiyan Goku and Android 13, their locked arms cutting diagonally through an explosive field of red, yellow and white energy.

The lower section expands the battle into a full ensemble composition. Super Saiyan Future Trunks and Vegeta confront Androids 14 and 15, while the enormous DRAGON BALL Z logo anchors the bottom of the sheet. The arrangement makes the film’s central concept immediately clear: three Super Saiyans against three new android enemies.

Across the centre, the red Japanese campaign copy reads:

「戦慄の最強人造人間が急襲！迎え撃つ三大超サイヤ人!!」

— approximately, “The terrifying ultimate Androids launch a sudden attack! The Three Great Super Saiyans strike back!!”

The lower title 極限バトル!! 三大超サイヤ人 translates approximately as “Extreme Battle!! The Three Great Super Saiyans.” At upper left, the colourful ’92 Summer Toei Anime Fair emblem firmly identifies the poster with its original Japanese theatrical campaign.

The vivid primary-red background, blazing Super Saiyan auras and enormous character artwork make this an exceptionally strong example of the bold graphic style associated with the peak early-1990s Dragon Ball Z movie campaigns.

It is over 34 years old!

Condition
Very Good+ to Excellent. The poster retains exceptionally strong colour saturation, with the reds, yellows and blacks remaining vivid and the principal character artwork displaying beautifully. There is some light age- and storage-related handling / soft surface creasing, visible particularly from the verso, but no significant issue detracts from the central artwork or typography. Once framed, it will display excellently.
