Sailor Moon S: The Movie (Japanese title: 劇場版 美少女戦士セーラームーンS, Gekijōban Bishōjo Senshi Sērā Mūn S) premiered in Japan on 4 December 1994. Directed by Hiroki Shibata and produced by Toei Animation, it is the second feature-length adventure spun off from Naoko Takeuchi’s smash-hit magical-girl manga and TV series.

Plot overview
When a mysterious comet streaks across the winter sky, astronaut Kakeru Ōzora finds a glittering shard and brings it home—unwittingly awakening the cosmic ice sorceress Princess Snow Kaguya, who intends to entomb Earth in crystal frost. Tokyo is soon blanketed by unnatural snow, and Luna herself falls in love with the gentle Kakeru. As the world edges toward a new ice age, Usagi Tsukino (Sailor Moon) and the rest of the Sailor Guardians unite to shatter Kaguya’s asteroid fortress and prove that the warmth of the human heart can melt even the coldest cosmic villainy. Combining soaring romantic beats, spectacular transformation sequences, and a lush orchestral score, the film remains a fan-favourite highlight of the 1990s anime boom.
