“Dragon Ball Z: The Tree of Might” (ドラゴンボールZ 地球まるごと超決戦), Original Japanese First-Release Movie Poster 1990, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) O76

Sale price $450.00

This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster produced for the 1990 first release of Dragon Ball Z: The Tree of Might. Released by Toei on 7 July 1990, the film formed part of the Summer Toei Anime Fair, promoted under the “Akira Toriyama THE WORLD” banner prominently displayed at the top of this sheet. A vibrant piece of early Dragon Ball Z cinema history, it brings together the familiar Z Fighters and their formidable new adversaries.

Film background
Directed by Daisuke Nishio, the film follows Goku and his friends as they confront Turles, a ruthless Saiyan who bears an unsettling resemblance to Goku. Turles and his followers plant the enormous Tree of Might on Earth, draining the planet’s life energy to produce fruit that grants extraordinary power. The resulting battle combines the series’ martial arts action with a threat to the natural world itself.

Poster design
An energetic ensemble composition places Goku at the centre, charging forward alongside Gohan, Piccolo, Krillin, Yamcha, Tien and Chiaotzu. Behind them, Turles’s enormous, shadowed face and glowing red scouter dominate the left side, while his armoured henchmen descend from above.

Radiating blue-and-white speed lines give the artwork a powerful sense of movement, contrasting with the orange uniforms and bright yellow Japanese tagline. The oversized DRAGON BALL Z logo anchors the lower section, accompanied by the green Japanese film title. The ’90 Summer Toei Anime Fair emblem and Toriyama banner complete this distinctive original theatrical design.

Condition
Excellent+. Light handling creases and gentle paper undulations are visible, particularly on the reverse, alongside a few small marks. The front retains vivid colour and presents beautifully. Once framed, this poster will display excellently.
