This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster printed in 1986 for the first release of Entrails of a Beautiful Woman (美女のはらわた / Bijo no Harawata), also known internationally as Guts of a Beauty. Directed and written by Gaira—filmmaker Kazuo Komizu—the picture combines Japanese adult cinema with splatter horror, supernatural revenge, and extreme practical-effects imagery.
Produced by June Theatre and distributed by Nikkatsu, the film opened in Japan on 23 September 1986 as a colour feature running approximately 68 minutes.
Film background
The story follows a woman investigating the disappearance and death of her sister, whose fate is connected to a violent criminal organisation. Her attempt to obtain justice develops into an increasingly nightmarish revenge narrative involving narcotics, psychological manipulation, bodily transformation, and supernatural horror.
The film was conceived as the second entry in Gaira’s loosely connected “Splatter Eros” series, following Entrails of a Virgin earlier in 1986. Rather than functioning as a direct narrative sequel, it continues the earlier film’s fusion of erotic exploitation, grotesque practical effects, and low-budget independent horror.
The principal cast includes Megumi Ozawa, Ayako Ishii, Seira Kitagawa, Ken Yoshizawa, and Kazuhiro Sano. Its deliberately excessive mixture of genres has subsequently given the film a cult reputation among collectors of Japanese underground horror and Nikkatsu-era adult cinema.
Poster design
This Japanese B2 features an exceptionally vivid illustrated exploitation-horror composition, dominated by a reclining woman surrounded by brilliant orange feathers or fur. Two enormous metallic drill-like instruments project diagonally across her body, transforming the central image into an unsettling collision of eroticism, machinery, and physical threat.
Behind her, the composition incorporates a shadowy blue face and a heavily armoured warrior figure, suggesting both supernatural menace and archaic violence. The polished chrome machinery, intense flesh tones, and blazing orange highlights contrast sharply with the dark green, black, and blue background.
Down the left side, the title appears in enormous blood-red brush lettering:

Across the upper-right section, the yellow campaign line declares:

Cultural significance
Entrails of a Beautiful Woman belongs to a distinctive period in which Japanese independent horror filmmakers combined the production framework of adult cinema with increasingly elaborate practical gore effects.
Its imagery anticipates the international cult interest that later developed around Japanese body horror, splatter cinema, and direct-to-video genre filmmaking.
