This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1977 for the release of Exorcist II: The Heretic, John Boorman’s ambitious follow‑up to William Friedkin’s landmark horror film, with Linda Blair returning as Regan MacNeil alongside Richard Burton, Louise Fletcher and Max von Sydow.

Design
The design echoes the minimalist dread of the first film’s Japanese campaign. A vast black field dominates the sheet, broken only by the pale face of Regan in the lower right, her expression wary and distant. Above, the English title EXORCIST II: THE HERETIC appears in small white type, with the large red Japanese logo 「エクソシスト2」 slashed across the centre like a warning. A lavender band across the bottom holds a row of monochrome cast headshots and the credit block, adding a subtle touch of colour while keeping the overall mood sombre and restrained. The huge areas of negative space give the poster a haunting, almost art‑house quality appropriate to Boorman’s surreal take on the material.
