“For a Few Dollars More” (夕陽のガンマン), Original Re-Release Japanese Movie Poster 1972, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) H260

Sale price $1,500.00

This is an original Japanese poster printed in 1972 for the re-release of Sergio Leone’s For a Few Dollars More (Italian: Per qualche dollaro in più), the second film in the Dollars Trilogy. Starring Clint Eastwood and Lee Van Cleef as rival bounty hunters and Gian Maria Volonté as the ruthless El Indio (with Klaus Kinski in support), the film helped cement the worldwide popularity of the Spaghetti Western.

Poster design
One of the most striking Japanese designs for the title: Eastwood’s Man with No Name is seen from behind at sunset, poncho fringes silhouetted against a blazing orange sky. The bold magenta Japanese title 「夕陽のガンマン」 slashes across the center, with “FOR A FEW DOLLARS MORE” in English above the figure. At lower left, a vignette firefight plays out in the dusty street, while テクニカラー/テクニスコープ callouts and tidy credit blocks complete this classic early-’70s B2 composition.
