“Fright Night Part 2” (フライトナイト2 バンパイアの逆襲), Original Release Japanese Movie Poster 1988, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) O523
This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1988 for the first Japanese theatrical release of Fright Night Part 2 (フライトナイト2 バンパイアの逆襲), directed by Tommy Lee Wallace and distributed in Japan by Columbia (コロムビア映画).
The movie is the direct sequel to 1985’s Fright Night, bringing back Charley Brewster and TV horror host Peter Vincent as they face a new coven of vampires led by the seductive Regine.
Film background
Three years after the events of the original film, Charley is in college and undergoing therapy to convince himself that vampires don’t exist. When Regine, the sister of slain vampire Jerry Dandrige, arrives seeking revenge, Charley and Peter are drawn back into the world of the undead. The film leans more into gothic romance and creature‑feature spectacle, with an ensemble of colourful vampire henchmen and elaborate transformation effects.
Poster design
The Japanese B2 is a riot of colour and monstrous imagery. A massive demonic orange face with burning eyes and fanged mouth dominates the right side, looming over a classic haunted‑house‑style building in swirling blue clouds. Below, a screaming woman with glowing yellow eyes and extended fangs bursts from the bottom edge, while smaller vignettes show a bat, a clock face ticking towards midnight, a voodoo‑like woman and other creatures. A string of garlic and white pouches dangles down the left, emphasising the vampire theme. The dynamic white title 「フライトナイト」 slices across the lower section, with the yellow “2” and red subtitle 「バンパイアの逆襲」 giving the composition extra punch.
