This is an original Japanese poster printed in 1957 for the release of Funny Face. It is the first time we have seen this poster in Japan and believe that it has not sold in any of the major western auctions. This poster was purchased along with a wider collection including many Audrey Hepburn, Alfred Hitchcock, Disney and Hammer Horror posters from the 1950`s (we know Hammer and Disney makes for an interesting combination!) - not only did this collector have seriously good taste, most if not all of his almost 70 year old posters are in an incredible near mint condition.
Dispatched on an assignment, New York City-based fashion photographer Dick Avery (Fred Astaire) is struck by the beauty of Jo Stockton (Audrey Hepburn), a shy bookstore employee he's photographed by accident, who he believes has the potential to become a successful model. He gets Jo to go with him to France, where he snaps more pictures of her against iconic Parisian backdrops. In the process, they fall for one another, only to find hurdles in their way. (Source: ATM)
