"Getting Any?", Original Release Japanese Movie Poster 1995, B2 Size (51 x 73cm) Q213

Sale price $175.00

This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster printed in 1995 for the domestic release of Getting Any? / みんな〜やってるか! / Minna-yatteruka!, written, directed, and edited by Takeshi Kitano.

Kitano’s cult comedy follows Asao, an endlessly misguided man whose obsession with romance and status sends him on a surreal chain of disasters. The film unfolds like a wild sequence of absurd sketches, parodying popular cinema genres, television comedy, yakuza films, monster movies, sci-fi, and Japanese pop culture. Often viewed as one of Kitano’s strangest and most anarchic works, Getting Any? has since gained a strong cult following among fans of Japanese cinema and Beat Takeshi’s comedy career.

The poster features a fantastic, bold, and instantly memorable design. Against a vivid yellow background, the composition uses stark red and black graphic elements to create a striking visual gag. The large red symbol combines male and female iconography, with the English title “Getting any?” placed inside the design, perfectly reflecting the film’s outrageous, innuendo-driven comedy.

At the lower right, the film’s protagonist is shown beneath the Tokyo Tower, adding to the surreal, variety-show-like energy of the image. The vertical Japanese title 「みんな〜やってるか!」 runs boldly down the poster, loosely translating as “Is everyone doing it?” or “Is everyone getting some?”

The bottom text also highlights the film as a Beat Takeshi-directed work, while also placing it within Kitano’s wider filmography. The overall design is one of the most eye-catching Japanese comedy posters of the 1990s — bright, strange, provocative, and unmistakably tied to Kitano’s offbeat comic sensibility.

Printed for the original Japanese theatrical release in 1995, this poster is a highly appealing piece for collectors of Takeshi Kitano, Beat Takeshi, Japanese cult cinema, and bold 1990s Japanese poster design.
