"Godzilla: Pachislot Wars (ゴジラ パチスロ ウォーズ)", Original Japanese Pachislot Advertising Poster 2007, B1 Size (71 × 103 cm)
This is an original Japanese B1 poster issued in 2007 to promote Sammy’s branded pachislot machine GODZILLA – PACHISLOT WARS under license from TOHO (footer credit: “TM & © 2004, 2007 TOHO CO., LTD. / ©Sammy”). Produced for arcade and hall display rather than general film exhibition, these large-format trade posters were printed in comparatively small numbers and are prized by both kaijū and gaming collectors for their crossover appeal.
Background
The mid-2000s saw a surge of character-licensed machines in Japan; Godzilla, then riding renewed popularity from the Millennium-era films and video games, was a top-tier tie-in. Sammy’s cabinet mixed cinematic footage, monster battles and bonus modes (“BEAT DOWN THE STRONGEST”) to attract players, and the marketing leaned into Godzilla’s volcanic, apocalyptic imagery.
Poster design
A searing, monochrome-red composition engulfs the sheet: Godzilla roars amid lava and lightning, his silhouette emerging from a molten field with glitch-block overlays for a digital-warfare feel. At right, bold vertical copy reads:
「目的はただ一つ…『ゴジラ』を倒せ!!」 — There’s only one objective… defeat “Godzilla”!!
The chrome-bezel GODZILLA logotype sits above the machine’s sub-title PACHISLOT WARS, with the campaign slogan “BEAT DOWN THE STRONGEST.” Bottom right shows a product shot of the pachislot cabinet with “BIG” jackpot lamps ablaze. Logos for Sammy, licensing/legal lines, eco/printing marks, and the manufacturer credit サミー株式会社 complete the lower border.
