This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1973 for the Japanese theatrical release of Hollywood Blue: The Real Story of Porn Films (ハリウッド・ブルー／実録ポルノ裏面史), a U.S. documentary‑style compilation film that surveys the history of erotic and pornographic cinema using vintage clips, newsreel material and interviews. Marketed in Japan as an adults‑only exposé, it was released by Toei’s foreign‑film division on June 2, 1973. 

Film background
Part of the early‑1970s boom in “porn chic” documentaries, the film assembles scenes from decades of Hollywood and underground erotica, promising previously unseen nude footage of stars such as Marilyn Monroe and Jayne Mansfield, alongside lesser‑known stag reels and exploitation shorts. Framed as a historical overview of “blue movies,” it was promoted as lifting the curtain on the adult film industry at a time when censorship laws were rapidly changing and explicit material was beginning to reach mainstream cinemas. 

Poster design
The Japanese B2 is eye‑catching and provocative in classic 1970s exploitation style. Marilyn Monroe—blond hair tousled, smiling over her shoulder—is shown kneeling in shallow water at night, her swimsuit slipping just enough to suggest the promised nudity without revealing explicit detail.
