This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster for the 1994 first release of The Flintstones, released in Japan with the subtitle 「モダン石器時代」 — “Modern Stone Age.” Directed by Brian Levant, the film brings Hanna-Barbera’s animated world to life with John Goodman, Rick Moranis, Elizabeth Perkins, and Rosie O’Donnell as the Flintstone and Rubble families.

Set in Bedrock, where prehistoric creatures power the conveniences of suburban life, the story follows Fred Flintstone’s unexpected promotion and the trouble it brings to his family and friendships. The production combines elaborate sets, creature effects, and visual effects from Industrial Light & Magic, recreating the cartoon’s distinctive mixture of Stone Age surroundings and modern domestic comedy.

The Japanese poster features a busy photographic montage dominated by a long-necked dinosaur, its head rising into the blue sky with a mouthful of greenery. Behind it stretches a panoramic view of Bedrock, filled with stone buildings, prehistoric vehicles, and playful shop signs.

John Goodman as Fred Flintstone appears at the upper right with both arms raised, accompanied by the familiar “YABA-DABA-DU~!” catchphrase. At the lower left is Elizabeth Taylor as Pearl Slaghoople, while Kyle MacLachlan as Cliff Vandercave appears at the lower right using a prehistoric telephone.

Small inset images showcase the film’s animal-powered household inventions, including a bird-operated record player, a creature serving as a rubbish disposal, and a living lawnmower. The large Japanese title is rendered as chunky, dimensional stone lettering across the dinosaur’s neck.
