“Hundra” (ハンドラ), Original Japanese B2 Movie Poster 1983 Release, B2 Size (c. 51 × 73 cm)

Sale price $110.00

This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster printed for the Japanese release of Hundra, the 1983 sword‑and‑sorcery adventure directed by Matt Cimber and starring Laurene Landon as the eponymous warrior.

Film background
A Spanish‑Italian‑American co‑production, Hundra follows the last surviving woman of a matriarchal tribe massacred by marauding horsemen. Swearing vengeance, Hundra refuses to submit to patriarchal control, carving out her own path as a fiercely independent fighter. The film has since developed a cult following for its unapologetically female barbarian hero and its blend of revenge epic, adventure and camp.

Poster design
The Japanese B2 art embraces the film’s pulp‑fantasy appeal. A powerful painted image shows Hundra in profile, drawing a bow against a blazing red sky while armies clash across a desolate plain. Her exaggerated stance and the twin daggers at her hip emphasise both strength and sensuality. The katakana title “ハンドラ” is rendered in heavy block letters across the bottom, backed by a subtle metallic gradient that pops against the desert landscape. Japanese copy along the top promises spectacular, large‑scale action driven by a vengeful blonde warrior.

Fantasy and sword‑and‑sorcery imports played more limited runs in Japan, so their posters were printed in smaller quantities than mainstream Hollywood fare. Surviving B2s can be hard to track down, especially with strong colour.
