An original Japanese B2 theatrical poster for I, a Woman, released in Japan as わたしは女 in 1968. This striking design combines dramatic photographic portraits with vivid pink lettering against a dark background, capturing the distinctive style of late-1960s adult film advertising.

Directed by Mac Ahlberg, the Scandinavian drama stars Essy Persson as Siv, a young nurse seeking independence from her restrictive upbringing. Adapted from the novel by Siv Holm, the story follows her relationships and her determination to make her own choices. 

The composition is dominated by a large, upward-tilted portrait, balanced by a smaller image of Persson looking directly towards the viewer. Orange English script and the sweeping pink Japanese title stand out against the dark field, while yellow-green and turquoise promotional text adds further colour. A monochrome reclining figure spans the lower edge.

The printed credits include “Radley H. Metzger presents”, MetroScope, and MGM, whose lion emblem appears at the bottom right. Together with its bold typography and photographic arrangement, these details make this an appealing example of Japanese advertising for European cinema.

Condition: Very Good+. The poster retains strong colours and excellent visual impact. There are visible horizontal and vertical folds. The reverse shows age toning and small patches near the lower margin. It should display attractively when framed.
